I guess the clue is in the title, it’s certainly been a while since I’ve had the time to sit down and write a blog! But I feel I need to bring you all up to speed with what’s being going on, and indeed, what’s planned over the coming months.
We really are all proud of the Beech Hill and all it offers to both you our guests, and the team that operate it on a daily basis. I must say I’ve seen a lot of new faces over the winter and had some great and interesting conversations as well! I’ve even met a woman who grew up living in the hotel with her parents who ran it before, during, and after the Second World War! We chatted about the “old days” and how her father would go into the woods opposite the Hotel to shoot deer, and then her mother would prepare it ready for dinner in the restaurant that same evening! I ‘m happy to say that our venison, although very local, doesn’t come from the same source! Anyway, as always, it’s a pleasure to meet and chat with you, and the team here are always on had to offer help and advice about things to do and places to go. And remember not to let the weather stop you, almost every local attraction is now open twelve months of the year !
So what’s been happening lately? Well we’ve had a very busy winter when it comes to “High Biggin” our luxury holiday cottage, in fact, it’s been pretty much booked solid from November! If you haven’t already had chance to check this property out, I’ve got three words for you…. “DO IT NOW!” It’s an amazing place, and words don’t do it justice, pictures don’t really either, so we’ve got a HD video as well! Its well worth a look and as it can accommodate up to eight adults, its great value too!
The hotel has been kept quite busy as well, although it’s safe to say, I’m very happy to be in spring and can’t wait for a busy (and hopefully) hot summer! We’ve continued doing small projects inside and are planning to continue our upgrading of bedrooms and bathrooms as we move through the year. We’ve also got plans to make some great changes and improvements to the swimming pool area. This includes upgrading the changing rooms, we hope to be able to increase them in size as well, and I know this will make a huge difference to the general quality and feel of those areas. We’re also planning to add a Jacuzzi poolside, again, this will really enhance what’s on offer.
Finally I’m pleased to say it’s stopped raining and we can get outside and start painting! We all know we’ve had one of the wettest winters for a very long time, it’s made it impossible to get much done to the exterior of the Hotel. We have just started what looks like a very long list of jobs that will see the place looking lovely again. The gardeners have already done the first real cut of the grass this season and are already busy working on the flower beds and borders. We’ve got some lovely ideas and plans that will see lots of colour and also add some real interest to the gardens.
As always, we like to keep everyone informed on changes and of course offers and competitions on line. So make sure you follow us on Twitter , Facebook and Google+, and remember to keep our website in your favourites too, we often update great late availability deals that are too good to miss!
I’m always available to talk too and if any of you would like to discuss anything with me personally, from what’s going to, to the history of the building, feel free to contact me at the hotel, or better still, have a chat to me during your stay!
I hope to see you soon……
